Member of the Quebec Bar since 1988, Me Jean-Marc Ferland holds a Bachelor’s degree in civil law (B.C.L) and a Bachelor’s degree in Common law (LL.B) from McGill University. He has obtained a Licentiate of Swiss Law degree (LL.L) from the Université de Lausanne (canton of Vaud) and a Master’s degree in international commercial law, which he completed in 1993. His spoken languages are French, English and some German.
Me Ferland practices law, with his team, within a specialized boutique International Law firm: The Canadian Law Office Inc. His areas of expertise include commercial law, wills and estate law (successions), real estate law and international law. Among his specific fields of concentration are financial and tax planning, and in particular voluntary disclosures to fiscal authorities, on a provincial level in Quebec as well as on the federal and international levels. Me Ferland sits on various boards of directors; he has been a board member of the Swiss-Canadian Chamber of Commerce for about fifteen years. He is also involved in various philanthropic initiatives, for instance as the National legal advisor for the Canadian Ski Patrol. Me Ferland is also a Governor of the Quebec Bar Foundation.
